A single mattress measures approximately 92cm x 188cm — the most compact standard mattress size in New Zealand and a common choice for children's bedrooms, spare rooms, and smaller spaces. We currently carry two single mattresses, the Busca and the Cutro, both medium firm foam mattresses priced at $249 and both Ready to Ship. Our Single Mattress Options

Both single mattresses in this range are foam construction and medium firm, but they're built on different internal designs.

The Busca Mattress provides a solid, sturdy sleeping surface with minimal give, offering strong support. It arrives rolled and vacuum packed and may take up to a week to fully break in to its intended firmness.

The Cutro Mattress is also a medium firm foam mattress with a supportive sleeping surface. Like the Busca, it arrives rolled and vacuum packed and needs up to 24 hours to return to its original shape.

Both are a practical, affordable option for a bed that doesn't need the premium pocket spring or coconut coir materials found in our larger-sized mattresses.

Who Is a Single Mattress Best For?

A single mattress suits several common situations in NZ homes. Children moving out of a toddler bed into their first proper bed frame typically start with a single. A spare room that hosts occasional guests rather than a permanent sleeper works well with a single, keeping the room's footprint compact. And in smaller bedrooms — apartments, sleepouts, or studio flats — a single leaves the most usable floor space of any standard mattress size.

Medium Firm: What Does It Mean?

Both single mattresses are medium firm, which sits in the middle of the firmness range — firmer than medium soft but not as rigid as firm or extra firm. Medium firm is generally the most versatile firmness level, suited to back sleepers and most body types. It provides enough support for growing children without being uncomfortably hard, and enough cushioning for adults in a spare room without being too soft.
