Most furniture items sold by Proferlo Furniture require assembly upon delivery or collection. Please review the following policy regarding furniture assembly options, responsibilities, and conditions.

1. Assembly Requirement

The majority of furniture products purchased from Proferlo Furniture require assembly. Assembly instructions and necessary hardware are included with the product unless otherwise stated.

2. Proferlo Assembly Service

Proferlo Furniture offers a professional assembly service for customers who prefer assistance. This service is available at an additional cost and must be arranged in advance by contacting our customer service team. Pricing may vary depending on the product and assembly complexity.

Our assembly service is currently available within the Auckland metro area only. If you are unsure whether your location is covered, please contact our customer service team before booking the service.

3. Self-Assembly by Customer

Customers may choose to assemble the furniture themselves using the provided instructions. If customers choose this option, Proferlo Furniture is not liable for any damages caused during the assembly process, including damage to parts or the final structure.

If parts are damaged during self-assembly, replacement parts may be available at an additional cost.

4. Third-Party Assembly Services

Customers may choose to hire a third-party assembler. If a third-party assembler is used, Proferlo Furniture will not be responsible or liable for any damages that occur during the assembly process.

This also includes any modifications, alterations, or adjustments made to the product during the assembly process. For further information regarding product coverage, please refer to our Warranty and Return Policy.

Additionally, if the third-party assembler is unable to assemble the furniture, Proferlo Furniture will not be responsible for any related costs, delays, or compensation.

5. Assembly Assistance & Fault Assessment

If a customer believes a product is faulty or cannot be assembled due to a manufacturing issue, Proferlo Furniture can arrange for a technician to visit and assist with the assembly. A call-out fee starting from $80 will apply, and the visit will only be scheduled once the call-out fee has been paid.

  • If the issue is determined to be due to incorrect assembly or lack of assembly knowledge, additional charges may apply depending on the time and work required.
  • If the issue is confirmed to be due to a product fault or manufacturing defect, the $80 call-out fee will be refunded, and Proferlo Furniture will repair, replace, and assemble the product at no additional cost.

6. Damage to Floors or Walls

Although our assembly team will take great care when assembling and moving furniture inside the property, Proferlo Furniture is not liable for any damages to floors, walls, or surrounding property during the assembly or movement of furniture.

Customers are responsible for protecting delicate flooring or wall surfaces if required. While reasonable care will be taken, Proferlo Furniture cannot guarantee that heavy furniture movement will not affect sensitive flooring materials.

7. Wall Mounting and Securing Furniture

Our assembly team is responsible for assembling the furniture only. Wall mounting or securing furniture to walls is not included in the assembly service.

As wall mounting may require drilling or causing damage to the interior structure of the property, customers are responsible for arranging this themselves. This allows customers to determine the most suitable placement and mounting method for their home.

8. Packaging Disposal

If the Proferlo assembly service is used, our assembly team will remove and take away all packaging materials associated with the assembled product.

9. Assembly Inspection and Sign-Off

Customers are required to inspect the completed assembly before signing the delivery or packing slip. Customers may request the assembler to adjust or correct the furniture during the appointment until they are satisfied with the assembly.

Once the packing slip has been signed, the assembly will be considered accepted and completed. Any further adjustments or alterations requested after this point may incur additional service charges.

If the assembly cannot be completed on the day due to defective parts, missing parts, missing tools, or any other issue preventing completion, customers must not sign off the packing slip. Instead, customers should arrange a revisit appointment with our team as soon as possible to complete the assembly once the issue has been resolved.

10. Missed Assembly Appointment

If a customer is not available at the agreed assembly time after the appointment has been arranged and confirmed by both parties, a call-out fee of $80 will apply. Any revisit appointment will only be scheduled once the call-out fee has been paid.

11. Previously Attempted Assembly

If a customer has attempted to assemble the product themselves and later requests Proferlo’s assembly service, we reserve the right to refuse the service. This is because parts may have been damaged or compromised during the previous assembly attempt.

Our assembly team will assess the condition of the product and its components on a case-by-case basis and make the final decision on whether the service can proceed.

In such cases, Proferlo Furniture will not be liable for any damages or issues caused by the prior assembly attempt.

12. Limitation of Liability and Assembly Fees

Proferlo Furniture’s liability in relation to assembly services will not exceed the value of the product purchased.

Once the assembly service has been completed, the assembly service fee is non-refundable.
