Computer Desks NZ

Whether you are working from a dedicated home office or carving out a corner of your living room, Proferlo computer desks give you a solid surface for your setup without taking over the room. This collection brings together our fixed-height office desks that are purpose-built for computer use, from a spacious 1.4-metre worktop for full desktop setups to compact 93cm ladder desks designed for laptops and tighter spaces. Every desk ships free across New Zealand and arrives with all assembly hardware included.

Choosing the Right Size for Your Computer Setup

The most important decision when buying a computer desk is matching the desktop size to your equipment. Proferlo offers two distinct footprints:

  • 1.4-metre desktop (Artic) — 140cm wide and 60cm deep, this is the desk for a full computer setup. There is enough room for a monitor or dual screens, a keyboard, mouse, and still space for documents or a second device. The 75cm height places the worktop at a standard seated position for most adults
  • 93cm desktop (Polia & Cortona) — these compact ladder-style desks are 93cm wide and 40cm deep, making them a strong fit for a laptop workstation or a single-monitor setup in a bedroom, living room, or small study. The trade-off is less surface area, but the vertical shelving above the desk makes up for it with book and display storage built upward rather than outward

If you use an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse, the 1.4-metre Artic will feel far more comfortable for daily use. For a laptop-focused setup where space is limited, the Polia or Cortona gives you a functional workstation in under a square metre of floor space.

Built-In Storage — Drawers, Shelves & Cubbies

Every computer desk in this range includes integrated storage so you do not need a separate filing cabinet or shelf unit cluttering your workspace.

The Artic has a white storage cabinet on one side with a drawer for small items like cables, chargers, and stationery, plus an open shelf underneath for books, a printer, or a PC tower. The Polia and Cortona ladder desks take a different approach — a central drawer sits directly below the worktop with open cubbies on either side, and a tall upper shelf rises above the desk for books, plants, or display items. Both Polia and Cortona are available in a one-drawer or two-drawer configuration, so you can pick the layout that matches how much you need to store.

All desks are built from durable engineered wood with clean, modern finishes — Oak & White for the Artic, warm Brown for the Polia, and White Grain for the Cortona.

Setting Up Your Computer Desk for Comfortable Daily Use

Once your desk is assembled, a few adjustments will make long working sessions noticeably more comfortable. Position your monitor so the top of the screen sits at or just below eye level — on the 75cm Artic, a small monitor riser or laptop stand can help with this. Keep your keyboard and mouse close to the desk edge so your forearms rest flat without reaching forward.

Pair your desk with an office chair that supports your lower back and allows your feet to sit flat on the floor. For the ladder-style Polia and Cortona desks, anchor the desk against the wall as designed — this keeps it stable and secure while you work. If you find yourself wanting to alternate between sitting and standing during the day, Proferlo standing desks offer electric height adjustment as a dedicated sit-stand option.
